OPEN CALL for 1 PhD Fellow position (36 months)

The Center for Research in Medical Pharmacology, University of Insubria (Varese, Italy) has an open PhD fellowship position to work on the role of peripheral immunity in Parkinson's disease with particular regard to T cells and their relationship with neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration.

The ideal candidate for this PhD fellowship position (dottorato di ricerca) is expected to hold an MD or BSc degree or similar. During the PhD fellowship, s/he will learn and apply:
- flow cytometry techniques for the characterization of main innate and adaptive immune cell subsets in whole blood;
- cell separation and culture protocols, with particular regard to human T lymphocyte purification and culture from buffy coats and whole blood;
- ex vivo/in vitro functional models of immune response;
- how to write scientific reports and manuscripts.
Knowledge of scientific english is an absolute requirement.

The position is open for 36 months. Salary will be 65.956,16 €/3 years (including taxes/social security and 6 months increase for travelling abroad).
